These tests help to determine whether an injured worker is safe to return to work or if physical therapy or work hardening/work conditioning is the next step in rehabilitation. 

A Functional Capacity Evaluation should consist of several hours of job related activities to determine return to work guidelines. Successful physical therapy utilizes Functional Lift Assessments or Functional Lift Testing on a regular basis as mini FCE's to help the injured worker's team determine safe working guidelines.
